Cold as Ice

This ubiquitous Foreigner tune emerged during the spring ‘92 tour as Fishman’s theme, supplanting for a time the tried-and-true “Hold Your Head Up.” Like “HYHU” (and for a short time “Let’s Go”), “Cold As Ice” was performed instrumentally as an intro and outro for Fishman’s usual song and dance. Also like “Hold Your Head Up,” it was used as yet another excuse to piss off Fishman. Fishman has good taste in music and, face it: this song sucks. Be sure to check out 3/7/92 (around “Rosie”), 3/11/92 (“Baby Lemonade”), 4/16/92 (“Terrapin”), or 4/21/92 (encompassing “Catapult,” “HYHU,” and an instrument-switching “Lively Up Yourself”).
Phish, "Cold As Ice” > “Love You” > “Cold As Ice” – 3/31/92 St. Louis, MO
For whatever reason, the band has decided to spare Fishman this indignity after the song’s final appearance to date on 5/18/92, choosing instead to rely on “HYHU” to bring in The Hairy Beast Man.
