This lovely tune tells the sad but empowering story of a dejected soul who, over the course of a daytime drive, finds all sorts of fascinating substances in his body’s various orifices and crevices. The music is tap-your-foot fun even if the lyrics are elementary school-like naughtiness drivel. “Lushington” is more interesting for what it begat. The song featured a tightly composed, instrumental bridge that Trey eventually revivified from this discarded tune and inserted it into the ever-growing “Fluff’s Travels.” “The Chase,” as it came to be known, is a full member of “Fluffhead,” appearing in the Junta version and in all live versions since.

Versions of "Lushington" vary from the full fecal onslaughts delivered on 10/15/86, 4/29/87 and 8/29/87 to the abbreviated versions that can be found on 5/11/87 or 9/2/87. These abbreviated versions do not contain lyrics (silent but violent, if you will) and actually start with "The Chase," veer into a jam based on the "Lushington" chords and, whether coincidently or not, all segue into "Possum." As a result, some fans have labelled these versions as "The Chase" -> "Lushington." However, it appears that "The Chase" was still a part of "Lushington" at this time, as it would not appear independently until 10/14/87 (over a month after the last known "Lushington"). Despite the fact that it hasn’t been played since 9/2/87, “Lushington” has acquired somewhat of a cult following. In fact, as early as 8/21/87, one fan yells several times for the song – a wish that ends up unfulfilled.
